Helping Children Make Healthy Choices
Research shows that strong and positive relationships with parents, family members, teachers and other significant adults are factors in protecting children from risk taking behaviours such as drug misuse.
Positive parental interest and involvement in school life has also been proven to be a strong protective factor.
Our aim is to develop programmes, which help parents gain a deeper insight into health issues, enabling them to reinforce the work done in schools. Involving parents in this way can help both family and school give constant health promoting messages to children.
Life Education has developed Assembly and parenting programmes to include parents in activities which support the key healthy choices messages.
